Apple Vaults To The Top In Brand Recognition

A survey of almost 2000 people has revealed Apple as the top, most recognizable brand name, replacing search engine Google.
According to brandchannel.com, the company who conducted the survey, Apple's owes their recognition success to in part to iPod and iTunes. As portable media players become the norm, look for Apple's position to solidify. Of course, considering the popularity of Google, it's easy to foresee these two flip-flopping the top spot for the upcoming future.

The survey's focus is to take a snapshot of the impact a brand can have on buyers.
Apple made the no. 1 brand due to the iPod. Apple can't make them fast enough. The company shipped 4.58 million iPods in the fourth quarter of 2004, an increase of more than 500% over the same period last year.
Google came in no. 2 due in large part to its over-exposure with the media and investors throughout its period leading up its IPO.
