In what can be viewed as a response to customer demand, Apple has allowed Target.com to sale Mac Minis to their retail audience.

Currently, Target's web site is featuring product pages for the both Mac Mini model (40 gig, 80 gig), at $499 and $599, the same price as Apple's store. There is a 2 to 6 week wait for the computers, which is again the same as Apple.

Mac Mini is the first Apple computer to be sold by the retail giant, although, Target does sell iPods. There has been no word as to whether or not Mac Mini's will be showing up in Target's brick-and-mortar locations.

Thanks to MacCentral for the information.
